Justice for Kyam

If you have witnessed/personally experienced unsanitary or

inhumane conditions at Brooklyn Central Booking, and

especially

if you were denied medical treatment there, please send your

testimonial to Justice4Kyam@gmail.com. Be sure to include your

first name, last initial and the area of Brooklyn you are from. We

will compile the stories into a report that will be sent out to the

authorities to advocate for a full investigation of conditions at

Brooklyn Central Booking. Thanks for your continued support. —

  1. On Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the Flatbush Reformed Church, 890 Flatbush Avenue (at Church Avenue) in Brooklyn, NY there will be a Community Speakout sponsored by the family of Kyam Livingston. If you have been through the arraignment process in NYC and especially at Brooklyn Central Booking and you would like to tell your story of what you witnessed there and how you were treated, please come forward at our open mic. Elected officials will be there (as will lawyers) to hear your story. We will also be joined by community leaders and prison reform activists. Our hope is to bring about changes to conditions in Brooklyn Central Booking and other NYC holding cells, and we do this in commemoration of the six month anniversary of Kyam’s passing, may her soul rest in peace.

For information please contact the Justice for Kyam Committee at Justice4Kyam@gmail.com.
